Singer Rain was recently selected as the number one singer to put suntan oil on.When 1937 of the online music site, Juke On’s, members were asked, ‘Which singer would you want to put suntan oil on at the beach?”, Rain came up with 815 votes, taking 42.1% of the votes to charge the number 1 spot.
Rain’s ‘well-sculpted body’ not only captivates the eyes of the Koreans, but is also taking the eyes of women in Japan as well.Internet users who took the survey responded, “I would like to rub suntan oil on Rain’s sexy body. I’d like to see Rain’s wide shoulders and back.”
Son Ho-Young of the group GOD, received 347 votes (17.9%) to take 2nd place.
Son Ho-Young appeared on the cover of a health magazine this year, showing off his great upper-body and defined abs, which he won the ‘Junior Grand Prize for Best Abs’ for as well. Seven came in 3rd with 338 votes (17.4%).

Actress Yun Eun-Hye returns to the TV set 1 year after her role in KBS drama’s ‘Vineyard Man’, where she says, “Now I will be able to show my acting talent”.The MBC Monday, Tuesday drama ‘Coffee Prince Store 1 (writers Lee Jeong-Ah, Jang Hyeon-Ju, Director Lee Yoon-Jeong) held a production conference in the CCMM building on the 26th at 3pm in Yeoido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
Actress Yun Eun-Hye stated her opinions, “I fully trust the director, and haven’t worried too much about the production. I wanted to show a higher level of acting rather than my usual spunky roles.”Based on the writer Lee Seon-Mi’s original romance novel under the same name, ‘Coffee Prince Store 1’, actors Gong Yu, Lee Seon-Gyun, Chae Jeong-An, and Yun Eun-Hye present the dreams and love of four people.
Yun Eun-Hye plays Ko Eun-Chan, a woman who dresses up as a man to get a part time job at a coffee shop. Yun Eun-Hye expressed her thoughts on her new haircut in order to play a woman dressed up as a man, “My hair will grow again, but it’s hard to find a production that will help me grow as an actress, and that is why I didn’t regret cutting my hair.”
She added, “In ‘Palace’, I felt like I was still an amateur, and there were some scenes I was not satisfied with in ‘Vineyard Man’, but my third drama will allow me to show another level of my acting instead of the same old spunky character.”
Yun Eun-Hye shared her thoughts about her new role, “This character tries to be bright and stay positive in front of others, and I was pleased with the fact that I can display such an upbeat character.”
On the other hand, MBC Best Theater drama ‘Taereung Training Center’, production director Lee Yun-Jeong, is planning to use some unique directing and production techniques. The general public has great expectation for this director

Rain to Make it on His Own? New Office and Good Luck Ritual Held
After Rain’s contract ended with his previous management company, JYP, all eyes were on Rain as he followed another direction with an unknown office somewhere in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, and has captivated the interests of the entertainment industry as he held a good luck ritual ceremony on the past 20th.
Rumors of large entertainment management companies to spend tens of billions of Korean won on Rain began receiving even more attention when the world began to expect him to create his own entertainment company.
Still, the official company name and questions if Rain is to personally participate in the business himself is left to be answered sometime in mid-August.
Of course, Rain’s decision is still not 100% certain. Rain recently explained, “I prepared an office to continue on with my work, temporarily. The good luck ritual was held because business was not going as planned.”Rain’s contract with JYP ended this May. His presence in a large entertainment company is one to multiply the company’s assets and substantially raise its stock value as well.
His world tour management company Star M also stated, “We have intentions of welcoming Rain”. Although the statement grabbed the world’s attention, with the recent cancellation of his concert in LA, the press conference revealed that it would be difficult for them to take in Rain.
Currently, Rain is concentrated on filming a movie by the Wachowski brothers in Berlin, Germany, called ‘Speed Racer’. He is with an English instructor in Berlin, and his managers are known to be in Korea.

Zhang Ziyi was trained as a dancer since 10 at the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy, and won in a national competition. Ziyi was regarded as one of nation’s most potential dancer back then but she felt that she couldn’t achieve much as a dancer, and decided to switch path to acting instead.

I can’t say I’m a big fan of Ziyi, but I admire her for handling all the pressures and working hard on her acting career. Despite often critisized by local media, she remained polite and calm most all the time.

Crystal Liu Yi Fei was born in Beijing but spent her childhood mostly in Wuhan. Her father was a university professor while her mother a famous dancer and stage performer.
Liu Yi Fei was already modeling since 8 years old; her photos are still found on some streets in Wuhan where she spent her childhood. Yi Fei was said to be a very potential artist since she was a kid; she showed talents in singing, dancing and playing piano.

Lee Hyori is a member of the Korean pop group Fin. K.L. but also went solo in 2003, Fin. K.L. stands for "Fine Killing Liberty", which loosely translates into the "fin" (i.e the end) of "liberty killing," which means that the girls will stand up against and put an end to anything that will "kill (our) liberty." The name was chosen for the band by DSP Entertainment even before the members were chosen. Lee Hyori, who would become the group leader due to Lee Hyori being the oldest, was discovered while taking sticker pictures with her friends and was actually the last to join the group, just before their launch in January 1998. Fin. K.L. debuted officially on May 22, 1998 with their first single "Blue Rain." It was received quite well, but it was not until their second release from their first album: To My Boyfriend, that Fin. Phuket Island has a long recorderd history, and remains dating back to A.D. 1025 indicate that the island's present day name derives in meaning from the Tamil manikram, or crystal mountain. For most of history, however, it was known as Junk Ceylon, which, with variations, is the name found on old maps. The name is thought to have its roots in Ptolemy's Geographia, written by the Alexandrian geographer in the Third Century A.D. He mentioned that in making a trip from Souwannapum to the Malay Peninsula it was neccesary to pass the cape of Jang Si Lang.Phuket was a way station on the route between India and China where seafarers stopped to shelter. The island appears to have been part of the Shivite empire (called in Thai the Tam Porn Ling) that established itself on the Malay Peninsula during the first Millenium A.D. Later, as Muang Takua-Talang, it was part of the Srivichai and Siri Tahm empires. Governed as the eleventh in a constellation of twelve cities, Phuket's emblem, by which it was known to others in those largely pre-literate times, was the dog.
During the Sukothai Period Phuket was associated with Takua Pa in what is now Phang-nga Province, another area with vast tin reserves. The Dutch established a trading post during the Ayuthaya Period in the 16th Cent. The island's northern and central regions then were governed by the Thais, and the southern and western parts were given over to the tin trade, a concession in the hands of foreigners.After Ayuthaya was sacked by the Burmese in 1767 there was a short interregnum in Thailand, ended by King Taksin, who drove out the Burmese and re-unified the country. The Burmese, however, were anxious to return to the offensive. They outfitted a fleet to raid the southern provinces, and carry off the populations to slavery in Burma. This led to Phuket's most memorable hitoric event. A passing sea captain, Francis Light, sent word that the Burmese were en route to attack. Forces in Phuket were assembled led by the two heroines, Kunying Jan, wife of Phuket's recently deceased governer, and her sister Mook, After a month's siege the Burmese were forced to depart on 13 March, 1785. In recognition King Rama I bestowed upon Kunying Jan the honorific Thao Thep Kasatri, a title of nobility usually reserved for royalty, by which she is known today. Her sister became Thao Sri Sunthon. During the Nineteenth Century Chinese immigrants arrived in such numbers to work for the tin mines that the ethnic character of the island's interior became predominantly Chinese, while the coastal settlements remained populated chiefly by Muslim fishermen. In Rama V's reign, Phuket became the administrative center of a group of tin mining provinces called Monton Phuket, and in 1933, with the change in government from absolute monarchy to a parliamentary system, the island was established as a province by itself.
During the Sukothai Period Phuket was associated with Takua Pa in what is now Phang-nga Province, another area with vast tin reserves. The Dutch established a trading post during the Ayuthaya Period in the 16th Cent. The island's northern and central regions then were governed by the Thais, and the southern and western parts were given over to the tin trade, a concession in the hands of foreigners.After Ayuthaya was sacked by the Burmese in 1767 there was a short interregnum in Thailand, ended by King Taksin, who drove out the Burmese and re-unified the country. The Burmese, however, were anxious to return to the offensive. They outfitted a fleet to raid the southern provinces, and carry off the populations to slavery in Burma. This led to Phuket's most memorable hitoric event. A passing sea captain, Francis Light, sent word that the Burmese were en route to attack. Forces in Phuket were assembled led by the two heroines, Kunying Jan, wife of Phuket's recently deceased governer, and her sister Mook, After a month's siege the Burmese were forced to depart on 13 March, 1785.
